Page Name

[edit]

At least here in Maine, it was being referred to as the "Patriot's Day Nor'Easter." Thoughts? --Auto(talk / contribs) 20:31, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do think it has an official name, thus there are different labels, either nondescript such as Spring or April Nor'easter, or apparently at different locales also Patriot's Day or Tax Day Nor'easter, - however it lasted more than one day.Ekem 21:41, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Those extra names should be redirects. CrazyC83 22:21, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Due to the seemingly widespread impact of the storm, maybe it should be called April 2007 North American Complex or Storm Complex (dependent on how it is usually named)--JForget 19:53, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

At least in my area, it was known by some people as the "Tax Day nor'easter". I have tried to creat a page named "Tax Day Nor'easter", but it was deleted. Any thoughts on other names? Juliancolton 16:42, 19, October 2007

Severe weather ahead of the storm

[edit]

Should they be part of the article, even though it was not a Nor'easter at the time they happened? CrazyC83 22:21, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can definitely add the tornadoes that were part of the storm from Texas to South Carolina - it was also within the same storm. I've also added storm effects in Canada as it was not just a US storm--JForget 19:51, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

damage

[edit]

I have some newspapers I kept with lots of damage info and even damage estimates, so I'll add those when I can. icelandic hurricane #12 (talk) 11:53, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Should there be a seperate article about the damage and effects of this storm? Juliancolton 16:44, 19, October 2007

This is true, it is 1 March 2008 and this storm happened almost 11 months ago. I remember it clearly, I think the basement flooded, and that is what happened with most people. Some, unfortunately had the first floor of their house flooded, which is a big problem, esprcially if they don't have a floor on top of that one. They can hide in the basement, i guess, unless that flooded, too. Also, I heard that one lady died because her car went out of control on a sharp turn and the car went into the woods and she died :(. (Hey that sort of reminds me of the College Road Trip commercial only no one died.). --RayquazaDialgaWeird2210 (talk) 12:34, 1 March 2008 (UTC) PS no there shouldn't be a separate article, it would be a waste.[reply]

Yea, I can't find enough information for a seperate article, anyway. Juliancolton (Talk) 13:34, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Failed "good article" nomination

[edit]

This article failed good article nomination. This is how the article, as of February 11, 2008, compares against the six good article criteria:

1. Well written?: Neutral. Several unexplained acronyms, but overall not bad. However, the impact is very cluttered
2. Factually accurate?: Neutral. Three unsourced statements
3. Broad in coverage?: Fail. This article is supposed to be about the nor'easter, but it also deals with earlier aspects of the storm; for example, was the tornado death in South Carolina part of the nor'easter? The storm history is too short, as it doesn't deal with the entire history of the storm. Additionally, there are several important facts missing. How much damage did it cause? Was there any aftermath/preparations?
4. Neutral point of view?: Pass
5. Article stability? Pass
6. Images?: Pass

Consistency in units are needed. Good luck improving it in the future.

When these issues are addressed, the article can be renominated. If you feel that this review is in error, feel free to take it have it reassessed. Thank you for your work so far.— ♬♩ Hurricanehink (talk) 04:26, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
