Conflict of interest editing

[edit]

User Pmesiti has written, "Please leave my editing of Bernie Finn's page along. As his media adviser, it is my job." There is also an implict threat of legal action in that post. A reminder that we edit by consensus and that nobody owns an article - especially someone with a declared conflict. Flat Out let's discuss it 01:53, 26 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced information

[edit]

The section about Finn being a DLP candidate is unsourced and should be removed. Crikey2046 (talk) 01:25, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alternatively we could source it, which I have now done. Frickeg (talk) 01:44, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
That source does not seem reputable, it just looks like some man's blog. A more reliable source would be the Australian Electoral Commission or another independent body. Crikey2046 (talk) 01:47, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, Psephos is not just some man's blog, it is the world's most comprehensive database of electoral results and run by a recognised psephologist. Finn is apparently quite coy about his DLP history (I was surprised that Vexnews was the best I could find in media sources, and I certainly wasn't going to use that), but it's easy to confirm and our own election results and candidates articles do so. By all means go and look at the parliamentary handbooks and you'll find the same result. The AEC does not publish the full results for elections this early online. Frickeg (talk) 01:51, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Crikey2046 you are block evading and have a clear conflict of interest. WP:EVADE. Flat Out let's discuss it 01:54, 2 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure how I have a clear conflict of interest, I don't even live in that electorate Flat Out. I just noticed there was old information on the article and wanted to update it, didn't realise it would be so controversial. Happy to defer to your expertise on this source Frickeg.
