[edit]This article names four of the students, even though they are underage, have not been charged with any crime, and the source for the names is not given. I have therefore deleted the names. DLC (talk) 19:01, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not going to re-add the names but the names are given in the youtube video's description. Soulboost (talk) 19:33, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Agree, the names should definitely not be reinstated. As minors their names will not be officially released unless they are charged as adults. The diffs might even qualify for revdeletion or oversighting, but I'm not sure on that part. SheepNotGoats (talk) 20:14, 21 June 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion, I was not aware of revision deletion. I have sent a request for this to be done. DLC (talk) 03:16, 22 June 2012 (UTC)
Hang on! The names are clearly written in the 'participants' list in the right-hand box! Doh! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.57.250.16 (talk) 14:31, 24 August 2018 (UTC)

<Redacted>
[edit]Redacted recorded the videos, at least the most popular one. He appeared on the news by himself, volunteering his face, voice, and name. This is an official release of his name as well as his role in the bullying and it can be referenced.
Please explain which Wikipedia Policy prohibits the use of "underage" names, otherwise his name should be included. In-Correct (talk) 18:53, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Essentially per WP:BLPNAME and a long standing consensus that we don't. I note that at least one previous version that included names has been oversighted. My person view is that they're young children, probably didn't make the decision to go on TV and probably don't understand the consequences of doing so. Courts protect must children's name for this reason and I think so should we. I've redacted the name above and revdel'd the name as the name isn't necessary for this discussion - we can discuss the issue without including the name. If a consensus does form that the names can be included (which I think is very unlikely) we can easily restore everything. Dpmuk (talk) 21:35, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- You can object about including the names in this article, but once again ... These students HAVE been identified! Somebody rewrote the infobox saying that it was filmed by "a male student (unidentified)" etc. but that is just not accurate. I request that part be removed. In Correct (talk) 22:49, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
Removing Profanity
[edit]I am going to remove some of the comments by the children. They are profane AND inaccurate. And I think that unless there is an official source, we can't use original research because we could argue about what they really said. I think it should be summarized about what they said instead of providing details. In-Correct (talk) 18:56, 23 June 2012 (UTC)
- Profanity is no reason to remove the text and I urge you not to do so for this reason - see WP:NOTCENSORED. Your reasoning that they are inaccurate is a valid reason to remove them although I suspect there may be some disagreement over whether it is inaccurate or whether we should include it.
