Lead of article too long

[edit]

The lead is too long, and has content that is repeated in, or solely belongs in the article body. I will address this.

I will also add content, e.g. regarding June 2024 allegations of Daniels engaging in respectability politics by Reverend Al Sharpton and Hakeem Jeffries, and Donalds' responses.

In early 2023, when Daniels was considered for Speaker of the House, Joy Reid confronted him suggesting that Daniels was too ignorant to know what the role involved. Reid's accusations are countered by WP:NPOV sources, e.g. Florida's Future: The Education of Byron Donalds, The New Republic, March 2023:

"Byron Donalds does not talk about school choice very much anymore. For the last two years, Donalds has primarily focused on financial issues... His actions in Florida continue to bear fruit. They are his résumé, a testimony to his political acumen and an answer to furious questions, like the two from Joy Reid below, that were slung at him in the aftermath of the House speaker fight. Donalds is far more than a diversity statement. He is a hard-line Christian conservative, but one you can take home to your mostly secular mother. The congressman is no prop. Dismiss him at your peril."

Bias and surrogate nepotism

[edit]

We must remind ourselves of a person's motives. 2600:1000:B179:6B67:C1A9:AA1C:F032:E314 (talk) 14:12, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
