Notability considered[edit]

I added the 'notability' template to this article, because I was concerned it was a combination of WP:BLP1E and WP:NOTINHERITED; however, I've changed my mind, and I think Cameron Douglas might be sufficiently notable to have an article. (There are a few sources which are about him rather than his legal problems, like this one: [1]) However, if this article is to stay around, we should be careful to ensure it is not excessively negative, or focuses too much on controversies: a very negative biography on a person of marginal notability is worse than none at all. Not notable[edit]

In the lead paragraph, Douglas is credited with being an actor. But, according to his Filmography, he has done little acting (at least paid acting). The bulk of his biography is about his conviction and prison record. Considering how many individuals are in prison serving time for drug convictions, I'm not sure this meets the standards of notability, even if his father is famous (WP:NOTINHERITED). As an inclusionist, I would consider four films enough for inclusion here. Reasonable minds can disagree, but I'm going to come down on the "include" side. Marteau (talk) 21:59, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No longer a mainstream actor...[edit]

I could be wrong about this but I believe that on the day that Cameron Douglas was convicted of felony drug charges the two U.S. actors unions AFTRA and SAG (At the time still separate entities) revoked his memberships for cause. Now whether or not he can be reinstated depends if his father Michael has enough pull with the current SAG-AFTRA President and National Board to have him reinstated otherwise its probably safe to say that you can put a fork in Cameron because he's DONE. Therefore I'd like to suggest that it be changed to the past tense if that is acceptable and appropriate. YborCityJohn (talk) 07:23, 18 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
