Burgess?

[edit]

...Rocks, the daughter of a successful grocer who later served as burgess of McKees Rocks...

What exactly does it mean that she was "burgess of McKees Rocks? (Alphaboi867 20:51, 5 August 2006 (UTC))[reply]

She was not Burgess, her father was. Burgess is an older term for mayor. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.92.91.102 (talk) 03:19, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

State Treasurer Predeccessor

[edit]

This article states that Catherine Baker Knoll's predeccessor as State Treasurer was Budd Dwyer, but according to his article, he committed suicide in January. 1987, two years before Baker Knoll became State Treasurer in 1989. Was the office simply left vacant for those two years or was another person appointed to fill the vacancy? --TommyBoy 12:38, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, my question has been answered. --TommyBoy (talk) 03:07, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
