National Prominence[edit]

I know WNBC is available on C-Band satellite, but before that time; I'm guessing the Digests were the way most outside of New York heard of Scarbourough.

  • Only in the Eastern, Central and (presumably) Mountain time zones; in the Pacific time zone, in the late 1970's and early '80's the News Updates/Capsules/Digests were handled on an alternating basis by KNBC/Los Angeles anchors John Schubeck and Tritia Toyota. So Angelenos weren't likely as familiar with Scarborough as the rest of the country in that respect. –Wbwn 05:45, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Balancing racial issues and concerns[edit]

It was important to be able to do this, and have a understanding of racial issues, which Chuck apparently had the skills required to do so, and most of all, he recognized and acknowledge the issues and this helped gain him respect in USA.The USA Air Force also seemed to recognize such men, like Chuck. It was an era and time when it was especially important to have men in the Air Force who could work with all people. My father, a man of color served in the Air Force during this time with such men like Chuck. It allowed my father to feel honored to serve, among such men. 2603:7000:B800:194F:1D63:4324:FEF4:C9EB (talk) 10:24, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
