D. K. Metcalf → DK Metcalf – DeKaylin Metcalf spells his abbreviated first name as DK, not D.K. "Metcalf clarified the proper way to write his first name is DK, without abbreviating periods, though the letters stand for his given name, DeKaylin." via Seattle beat reporter Gregg Bell.
Additionally he is listed as DK by his NFL Team's official listing of him, as well as his ESPN player detail page. His Twitter account also uses DK, instead of D.K. Nickmazzetti (talk) 15:40, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- Support - The News Tribune source actually makes it clear these aren't initials per se, just a shortening of his first name "DeKaylin". This makes it akin to a WP:NICKNAME, and that nickname seems dominantly WP:COMMONNAME. Even if it were MOS:INITIALS, we'd still use "DK" (no periods) because the subject "demonstrably has a different, consistently preferred style for his or her own name". -- Netoholic @ 23:55, 19 June 2019 (UTC)
- Support - Shortened name, not initials. Many notable sources show "DK".Cptnono (talk) 03:00, 22 June 2019 (UTC)
