Consideration for status as a pest
[edit]In my view, Tucker may be considered a pest. I am a Sabres fan, however, so do not have a NPOV. Therefore, offering this as a topic of discussion before adding any commentary. Marimvibe 02:19, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
I'd agree with that statement.--E tac 12:55, 24 February 2007 (UTC)
As a fellow Sabres fan, agreed entirely... Also, I removed the title "Fucker and Pecker" from the article, and replaced it with Tucker and Peca. I assume it was simply vandalism. AlexRochon 21:30, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Critiquing an Article - Darcy Tucker
[edit]Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented? - I believe that the fact that Darcy Tucker is Metis is underrepresented in this article. It is mentioned once and that is it. There is no mention of the community he is from, his aboriginal background or any information towards the culture. Being Metis is a major part of some people's lives and is not a fact that should be overlooked about players. Compared to some of the stats about his playing career that seem to be irrelevant to the article, and are discussed thoroughly, his Metis status is not discussed nearly enough.
Is everything in the article relevant to the article topic? Is there anything that distracted you? - There is a point in the article that references a hit that Tucker made, during the playoffs one year against the Islanders, that seems unnecessary. It just mentions that the hit made Tucker known in Long Island and then gives details on the injuries Mike Peca (the receiving player endured). This information is fairly irrelevant because Tucker was a fairly well known name in the NHL and one hit he made should not describe his career. It then discusses how Michael Peca came to Toronto to play for a few years, which does not have anything to do with Tucker's career unless you are discussing every player he ever played with. There is also no reference points to where the information regarding the hit can be found. Other than this, the article is fairly well organized and not distracting. It flows smoothly from his playing career, to his personal life, to his career statistics and awards.
Is the article neutral? Are there any claims, or frames, that appear heavily biased toward a particular position? - The article is neutral. There are no real claims that show bias towards a particular position or Tucker in particular. The article mainly describes his background as a junior player and where he grew up. It then gets into his playing career and statistics. There is no info showing bias towards any plays that he made, teams that he played for, or himself. It is clearly written from a neutral standpoint that cannot be seen as a bias source.
