Changes
[edit]I made a number of well-referenced changes as 87.249.177.148 (talk) without noticing I wasn't logged in. One change added a form about Biathlon World Championships, but I realized that this form is not present in articles of other Biathlon athletes, like Helena Ekholm, Magdalena Neuner etc... so I will delete it again. The reader can reach the Biathlon World Championships through the _See also_ links. Roger491127 (talk) 00:35, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
Things to do
[edit]We could add more biographical details from the first external link: Domracheva-Interview, childhood, youth. This would probably be the most valuable addition to the article right now.
We could add tables like in the Magdalena Neuner article. But the tables for olympic medals and world championships medals would be very short. Tables about all starts in world cup competitions, like in the Maxim Tchoudov article would be very long and need a lot of work.
We could add awards from the page http://www.belarus.by/en/about-belarus/sport/darya_domracheva: "Darya Domracheva is the leader of national women’s biathlon team of Belarus. She was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports in 2010.
Darya Domracheva was the winner of the Biathlon Award 2010. She was named female athlete of the year."
but only somebody from Belarus could add the recipients for years before and after, and what is the value of these awards? Obviously Darya Domracheva is one of the most famous, if not the most famous, athlete in Belarus. Quoting one source: "Nobody is working in Belarus when Darya Domracheva is competing." It was the same in Sweden when Ingemar Stenmark competed, all work stood still and everybody was following the competitions on TV. Roger491127 (talk) 03:27, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
World Cup section in the infobox, wins at the Olympics
[edit]In this section, the number of wins and podiums includes wins/podiums at the Olympic Games. However, beginning from the 2013/2014 season, Olympic Games are not included in the World Cup, or at least World Cup points are not awarded at the Olympics. You can check this in the IBU Datacenter, opening the pdf with total World Cup points: races at the Olympic Games are not listed in the World Cup Events. I mentioned this in the brackets near the number of wins and total podiums (races at the 2010 Olympics were part of the World Cup), but maybe someone knows how to do this in a better way. This is relevant not only to the article about Darya, but also to the articles about all athletes who won medals in biathlon at the 2014 Olympics.--AkVmJrP (talk) 18:56, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
