NPOV

[edit]

Note that a lot of the events documented in the article, such as "the men made a nuisance of themselves" are allegations. Let's wait until a judgement is handed down by a court of law before we claim these guys did all these things. Or at the very least state that the men are alleged to have done these things. Furthermore, the article needs to be cleaned up; terms such as "her body was found dead" can be improved upon.

Will leave this up here for a while before I do anything, to see what everyone else thinks. I elliot 15:44, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the events described in the article have been put forward as evidence in the on-going coroner's inquest and have been corroborated by multiple witnesses. I'd be very hesitant in deleting material with this level of credibility. --Dave 09:06, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're absolutely correct Dave. I've noted that you've added the word 'alleged' to several of the article's allegations. I don't think that the NPOV sticker shall remain. I elliot 12:14, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dead Links/Obituary Notice

[edit]

I noticed that two of the external links are dead links. I've taken the liberty of removing those two. It seems the links to the newspaper articles tend to "die out" fast.

Also, I had found an updated reference on the obituary/funeral notice at http://ryerson.arkangles.com/notices.php. It references the obituary/funeral notices for Mrs.Brimble from the Brisbane Daily Courier from 2002. You have to punch in the name of person and year of death to access the page, but for some reason I cannot capture the page with the information on it to put the link here. Is there a way of doing that? Ladycascadia 14:18, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Current Event tag

[edit]

I want to tag this as being a current event. Although the incident has already ocurred, the trial and prosecutions are continuing and should be tagged as a current event. However, seeing as there's no clear sections to put it in, I will leave it alone. Needs to be done, though. Naysie

Bit of an update

[edit]

The inquest ended yesterday (July 26), so I've removed a few obsolete references. A fresh set of eyes will doubtless pick up others that I have missed.

The timeline switched between present and past tense. I made it present tense for the sake of consistency.

I have concerns about the use of the word 'claim' in court reports. In my view, it is not neutral, and suggests that the person is not to be believed. I've left it in for now but would appreciate your thoughts.
