Results of the leadership election
[edit]I just noticed another editor adding the conservative leadership election table, but is the detail shown there needed? Should we have:
- No table at all
- Table only shows the first round, after which Sloan was eliminated
- Show the full results table.
I am open to an RfC to apply to all leadership candidates throughout all leadership elections. Thanks, Username6892 14:54, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
What is a caucus?
[edit]"expelled from the Conservative Party caucus" needs elaboration. What does this mean? He's an MP, he's in parliament, he's a member of the party, but he's not in the caucus? --Cornellier (talk) 16:22, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- The PC Caucus is all of the Members of Parliament who were elected as Conservatives. Does the article need a sentence to explain that? Maybe.
- btw, If you get kicked out, you have two choices: 1) serve as an Independent OR 2) Try to get another Party to accept you; that won't happen given Sloan's behaviour, as stated by the Party Leader:
Party Leader Erin O'Toole explained that the decision had, in fact, been made "because of a pattern of destructive behaviour involving multiple incidents". "Conservatives have voted to expel Derek Sloan from caucus". CBC News. 20 January 2021. Retrieved 21 January 2021. Peter K Burian (talk) 16:39, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- I added this explanation in Ouster from the Caucus
On January 18, 2021, O'Toole announced plans to remove Sloan from the Conservative Party caucus (of PC Members of Parliament) Peter K Burian (talk) 16:45, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- I think we should assume when writing an article that Wikipedians and general readers are competent speakers of the English language and that when confronted with an unfamiliar word they can - at the very least - type it in Wikipedia's search bar. That's not a huge ask. 66.7.93.14 (talk) 04:43, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
Party dissolved?
[edit]Wasn't the party dissolved? You can't be leader of a party that no longer exists. Legend of 14 (talk) 21:13, 28 July 2023 (UTC)
