Needs References
[edit]Decent stub, but needs work; must be some sources for this info
Incidentally, also deleted trivial reference to his fraternity. Not particularly encyclopedic or even interesting, but belongs in the frats list of notable memebers, where it is.TjoeC (talk) 03:18, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
I've added a bit about some recent health issues. The article I used as a source has some more biographical stuff if anyone wants to go through it to cull out some more info. http://trackfield.teamusa.org/news/article/5834 James (talk) 06:33, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Footnote Help
[edit]I'm not sure how to use one source for two facts; see footnotes 2 and 4. ô¿ô (talk) 04:00, 24 August 2008 (UTC)
- I fixed it, but basically you need to name the reference the first time with something like this <ref name=si> instead of <ref> and then any subsequent use of the ref you would only use <ref name=si/> with the / being very, very, very important. When you have a chance, could you make the references you added full citations? See WP:CITE for what info to add (kind of like a citation for a term paper so that people can find the info offline in case the website is down or they change the URL). Thanks. Photos
[edit]It's hard to believe there isn't a single photo of Fosbury jumping that is available for the article. --THE FOUNDERS INTENT PRAISE 13:58, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- One way to help this is to go here [1] and ask the flickr user to change the copyright for wikipedia use [2] --Omarcheeseboro (talk) 14:02, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
Career after the 1968 Olympic Final
[edit]This article does not tell anything about Fosbury's high jumping career after the 1968 Olympic Final. Was that the last time he jumped? That's unlikely but whether it was or wasn't, details about the latter part or end of his career would be good information for this article. teevee (talk) 20:00, 3 October 2017 (UTC)
engineering
[edit]There is a Youtube documentary about him which says that he used his engineering knowledge (he majored in engineering) in designing his style. It shows somes calculations (but it is not clear if these are Fosbury's calculations or merely artistic licenage). Kdammers (talk) 04:52, 28 April 2020 (UTC)
