Fair use rationale for Image:Louisecharmianfaulkner.jpg

[edit]

Image:Louisecharmianfaulkner.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

POV and Original Research

[edit]

I've tagged this article with a few question marks. It seems to be written in a very detailed narrative format, with a lot of the info presumably coming from people close to the case. It also places a lot of due emphasis on accusing a named person of a double murder, which I'm not too fussed about. Don't mistake me, I feel very sorry for the family of these victims, but this article seems very long and detailed for the relative notability of the case, and certainly not backed up by official sources. 123.2.104.74 (talk) 16:31, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Who is Charmian's father?

[edit]

@Davidgoodheart: when you created the infobox, you listed Barry Clark. An IP disputes it, saying instead that it is George Sutherland. The closest the IP and I agree is that the Sydney Morning Herald ref says the mother says it's Sutherland. The ref also says that Sutherland was the mother's boyfriend and Clark is the father of Charmian's siblings. Per multiple refs, the family situation seems complicated (including infidelity and broken marriages), and none of those involved seem in a position to clarify it better. Are there any independent refs? Maybe the infobox shouldn't say anything if we don't have WP:RS? DMacks (talk) 05:54, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what is the correct answer

[edit]

If you are referring to the of the Disappearance of Louise and Charmian Faulkner if you want to change the info in the infobox it's fine with me if you feel that you know this for sure, small things like this do not bother me, its when I see articles that are deleted for no go reason is what really upsets me, which is what has been happening as of late. Davidgoodheart (talk) 06:17, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry all for changing the article without discussion here. It's better now I think but misses the whole story of continual efforts to prod the police, court hearings, a request that a reward be offered, etc. We don't know who the father is but it's not the same as her other daughters (one news article refers to Charmian as someone's stepsister, for instance). Doug Weller talk 12:54, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that the article does not mention a certain letter that has had a relevance in the case and was reported already back in 2007 by the Herald Sun: https://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/victoria/letter-points-finger/news-story/6700035701279d7570932a49fc193b3c

The Herald Sun seems to be deemed valid for use as it is listed among the sources used for the article.
