This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons (BLP) policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. If such material is repeatedly inserted, or if you have other concerns, please report the issue to this noticeboard. If you are a subject of this article, or acting on behalf of one, and you need help, please see this help page. |

The contentious topics procedure applies to this page. This page is related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, which has been designated as a contentious topic. This article should adhere to the gender identity guideline because it contains material about one or more non-binary people. Precedence should be given to self-designation as reported in the most up-to-date reliable sources, anywhere in article space, even when it doesn't match what's most common in reliable sources. Any person whose gender might be questioned should be referred to by the pronouns, possessive adjectives, and gendered nouns (for example "man/woman", "waiter/waitress", "chairman/chairwoman") that reflect that person's latest expressed gender self-identification. Many, but not all, non-binary people go by singular they pronouns, which are acceptable for use in articles. This applies in references to any phase of that person's life, unless the subject has indicated a preference otherwise. Former, pre-transition names may only be included if the person was notable while using the name; outside of the main biographical article, such names should only appear once, in a footnote or parentheses. If material violating this guideline is repeatedly inserted, or if there are other related issues, please report the issue to the LGBTQ+ WikiProject, or, in the case of living people, to the BLP noticeboard. |

Pronouns
[edit]Dorian is fine with they/them/she/her/he/him gender~fLUid~ according to her instagram. Since "they" and "them" are both plural perhaps it would be best for editors to just pick one of the singular ones and stick with it.
--Opcnup (talk) 05:12, 24 July 2018 (UTC)
- As of July 2019, Electra's Instagram bio only mentions they/them pronouns. This week's Guardian interview also uses they/them pronouns to refer to Electra. Seems like singular they is how we should refer to this artist now. Funcrunch (talk) 08:20, 13 July 2019 (UTC)
So even though Electra uses they/them pronouns, I don't think that is meant to mean plural because I have spotted some other language implying that Electra is plural (such as the use of 'are'). Quadrow (talk) 22:20, 14 February 2022 (UTC)
If “are” is used with singular they and “is” is used with the singular noun, which is used when “Electra” and “they” are used in a compound sentence? Quadrow (talk) 08:23, 15 February 2022 (UTC)

Weston Allen Mention
[edit]I just added an edit nearing the end of career section that mentions Weston Allen's involvement in Electra's videos, specifically the lead singles of the 'Flamboyant' project. I felt like Allen's involvement in Electra's career is frequent and important enough to be mentioned at some point in the article, this is just the only source I was able to find that reliably mentions Allen. I know the two's involvement creatively goes back even further than this, even during Electra's work with Refinery. If someone can find a better place for Weston Allen to be mentioned that would only be beneficial to the article. Adelehink (talk) 11:36, 3 May 2023 (UTC)
