Start classification

[edit]

I have classified this article as high importance in the comics project category due to Marlette's significance as both a Pulitzer-prizewinning editorial cartoonst, creator and author of the Kudzu comic strip, and award-winning novelist. Scholar35 (talk) 02:44, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have classified this article as a start due to its level of detail and organisation. The article needs much better sourcing. Capitalistroadster 19:52, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article reads as though it was written by a high school student. I am a Marlette fan but not an expert. We need someone who knew his work and serious critical responses to it extremely well to work on the article.68.72.105.252 23:55, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I would note that the Atlanta Journal and Constitution did not regularly publish as a combined entity during Marlette's tenure there; he worked for the Atlanta Journal. [[Smontg2 (talk) 15:21, 11 September 2008 (UTC)]][reply]

Great read

[edit]

Just finished "The Bridge" . Having been born and raised in Cleveland County, NC, it had me at "linthead". My little town of Kings Mountain, slighly West of Gastonia, was at one time a town of mills and mill villages. Thank you so much for allowing us to go back with Mama Lucy to the days of strife and the harsh lives these mill folk lived. It was a privilege to go on that journey with her/you in this wonderful book.

Respectfully,
Becky Patterson
