merger[edit]

I propose merging Downtown National Register District into this article, Downtown Santa Ana Historic Districts. This article name is the National Register of Historic Places' official name and it is more descriptive. There seem to be 3 or more local historic districts included in the NRHP nomination. The local name may well be "Downtown National Register District" but that is not a suitable article name. Only one article is needed to cover the NRHP listing and the possibly multiple local listings for overlapping districts, i think. --doncram (talk) 17:44, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

repsonse[edit]

You are correct in stating that the National Register of Historic Places lists Downtown Santa Ana into more than one district. I see only two districts listed in the National Register as it pertains to the Downtown. These are North which is described as Governmental and / or Institutional, and South which is the retail section. I understand that French Park is listed as a historic district there too, is French Park to be included or thought of as part of the Downtown also? The National Register describes the Downtown as being roughly bounded by Civic Center Dr., First, Ross, and Spurgeon Sts. French Park is north of Civic Center but if you want to think of French Park as being synonymous with the Downtown, I'm okay with that. That makes sense because of the many historic homes there.

Also, because of the roughly bounded tag, we may consider including the Chiarini building on 3rd and Olive streets as part of the Downtown.

I'll make changes to my article to remove any unnecessary info and then you may do a full merger. O. Ian Ávalos (talk) 10:50, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Excessive lists of non notable restaurants etc[edit]

I have removed the unreferenced lists of eating establishments none of them had their own articles so are not deemed notable by Wikipedia standards. Theroadislong (talk) 17:54, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Roughly bounded[edit]

The short description is indeed "roughly bounded", but the full description says "Boundaries are based upon remaining integrity as discussed in the text, and are shown on attached Legal Boundary Plan. The drawings leave nothing to the imagination. I'll make the necessary corrections. Generic1139 (talk) 20:40, 20 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Downtown Santa Ana Historic DistrictsDowntown Santa Ana – Article is about Downtown Santa Ana, the area, not just with respect to its historic districts. As per WP:COMMON, "Downtown Santa Ana" is a simpler way to title this content Keizers (talk) 22:57, 17 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
