Julia Hibbert?
[edit]Dr. Hibbert was intended as a female character based on comedian and former Saturday Night Live cast member Julia Hibbert, better known as Julia Sweeney.
I'm afraid I don't understand this statement. Is this saying that Julia Sweeney at one time went by the name "Julia Hibbert"? Or played a character with that name? I can't find any reference that indicates any connection between Sweeney (her birth name) and Hibbert.--Proofreader J-Man 04:42, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, no one seems to know the source of this, so I deleted it. --Proofreader J-Man 04:49, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Specialty?
[edit]Does anyone know what his specialty is? He's performed the duties of a surgeon, a general physician, psychiatrist, a pediatrician, etc. Which is his "canon" specialty.Therequiembellishere 23:30, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Hibberts couple.png
[edit]Image:Hibberts couple.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Julius Hibbert → Dr. Hibbert — All these characters are much better known by these names. At the very least, Reverend Timothy Lovejoy should be moved to Reverend Lovejoy.Relisted. Fences&Windows 23:22, 29 June 2010 (UTC) Harry Blue5 (talk) 20:36, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
OPPOSE. WP:COMMONNAME does not go so far as to include titles. The article on the famous Philadelphia 76ers basketball player is named Julius Erving, not "Dr. J". The famous baby-care doctor is listed under Benjamin Spock, not "Dr. Spock". The captain, first officer, and chief medical officer of the USS Enterprise are listed under James T. Kirk, Spock, and Leonard McCoy, not "Captain Kirk", "Mr. Spock", and "Dr. McCoy". Nicknames are different—thus Magic Johnson, not "Earvin Johnson"—but the only reason Springfield's comic book-store owner is listed under Comic Book Guy instead of "Jeff Albertson" is because his real name didn't appear on The Simpsons until 15 years after his debut. YLee (talk) 23:11, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
- Comment Toss up for me, I like the proposed name changes, but Ylee makes a good point with his/her examples. CTJF83 pride 05:42, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Comment. Is there any official rules on this written in Wikipedia? I'm not saying there aren't, but it'd be great if I knew where they are. If there are none however, its always possible that the examples are wrong, though it is doubtable. Harry Blue5 (talk) 18:40, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Kiko4564 has moved Julius Hibbert to Dr. Hibbert despite the ongoing discussion, which I don't believe is proper. YLee (talk) 19:47, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- If you haven't noticed the admins were happy to delete an old revision of Dr. Hibbert so Julius Hibbert could be moved. Kiko4564 (talk) 19:50, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Comment To be fair, we do say Dr. Hibbert throughout the entire article. I noticed the deletion of Dr. Hibbert for the move, but I'm still shocked it happened so soon, especially during the discussion. Still, since the article that this is placed on has been moved, should we move this entire discussion to Talk:Nick Riviera or just leave it here? Btw, if these characters are moved, moving Clancy Wiggum to Chief Wiggum might be done, but that's less of a priority to me, since Clancy is more well known. Harry Blue5 (talk) 20:06, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Comment Can someone put back the movereq template? Julius Hibbert wasn't the only move we were discussing, and now this has been removed from WP:RM#Current discussions. Or should we just move this whole thing to Nick's page and recreate it there, like I suggested above? Harry Blue5 (talk) 20:22, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- I see no reason to move our discussion, but certainly the template should be reinserted; I don't like how the ongoing discussion was summarily preempted. YLee (talk) 20:25, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- I agree that the discussion should've been finished first, ESPECIALLY considering that the other articles had no conclusion at all and the Dr. Hibbert article was moved before we could make a balanced decision, even though I did think it should be moved. I'm just getting the Request Move thing again, hold on... Harry Blue5 (talk) 20:37, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
Comment Okay, it's been moved back now. Let's just pretend none of this happened and continue the discussion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harry Blue5 (talk • contribs) 21:22, 13 June 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose Dr. Nick, there are others, real people, who use that moniker. 76.66.195.196 (talk) 04:28, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
- Comment I seem to recall several real life Reverends Lovejoy... 76.66.195.196 (talk) 04:35, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
- CommmentYou two realise that Reverend Lovejoy and Dr. Nick already redirect to these pages. If you oppose the move using that a reason, you'd probably want to change the redirect instead. As of now, moving it would not imply there were no real life R. Lovejoys or D. Nicks or change anything for those who look for Dr. Nick in Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Harry Blue5 (talk • contribs) 15:11, 1 July 2010 (UTC)
- Upon checking, Dr. Nick is no longer a redirect, so I withdraw my comment about Dr. Nick just ahead. My point about R. T. Lovejoy still counts. I still think Nick Riviera should be the prime subject when it comes to Dr. Nick, but that's just my opinion. Harry Blue5 (talk) 15:15, 1 July 2010 (UTC)

Hibbert-Simpson puppies?
[edit]I thought Mr. Burns got a puppy from that too. I could be wrong though (not seen that episode for a while). onyx321 19:57, 7 April 2011 (UTC)
