E80 and section through Serbia

[edit]

Can we please stop fighting over this and keep politics out of here. Kosovo does not exist as a recognized country by UN. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wexy (talkcontribs) 13:58, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you read the article of Pristina carefully, you will note that it says: The captical of Kosovo. While Kosovo is not a country according to wikipedia and UN, I've added a note anywhere where Kosovo is mentioned with it's political status. We can't deny the fact that it passes through Kosovo. Thank you. kedadial 22:03, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, section through Spain passses through Basque Country (autonomous community) yet I don't see any mention of this so I don't see a reason to include regions and autonomous provinces in the list in case of Kosovo. I've made a change that's more fitting and also lists that it passes through Kosovo as you wanted. wexy (talk) 13:56, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Basque region of Spain, unlike Kosovo, is not a country. I reverted your edit. Current version is the most NPOV one, like in the Template:Countries of Europe. --Turkish Flame 14:18, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

We should follow what is written in the Pristina article, otherwise we would have to have this debate in every article that mentions a place in Kosovo. There are 600 articles linking to Pristina alone. I interpret the edit war in "European route E80" that some people spend a lot of effort to modify Wikipedia according to their political opinion. Since Pristina is in Kosovo, not Serbia according to Pristina, follow this. Discuss in the Pristina or Kosovo article not here. --BIL (talk) 17:19, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you check the user page of one of the editors engaged in this edit war you can clearly see where these political efforts come from. Also Kosovo article lists both POVs, one of them being part of Serbia under UN administration. I still don't see a reason to list a self-declared independence as a country here or on any other article. wexy (talk) 13:59, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you were referring to me, then it's my fundamental right to do it. We have a consensus that Kosovo is a disputed territory (as the note on footer tells), which means that we can't hide the fact that it is independent and also we can't hide that fact that Serbia doesn't accept it. The intro of Pristina's arciles says: "Pristina is the capital and the largest city of Kosovo", it's not saying "Pristina is a city in Serbia (Kosovo)", because we have a consensus about these issues, to only use Kosovo with a note on the footer of the page. Do you need any more clarification? Thank you kedadial 15:57, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Map" of E80

[edit]

I don't about the rest of the route, but the "map" of E80 across Portugal is very unrealistic. E80 goes North from Lisbon, parallel to the sea, and then makes a hard 90º turn East, toward the border with Spain; in the "map" shown here the road goes diagonally towards the border.
