I am a college student writing this page as a research project. This draft was only put up as a lesson in style of Wikipedia. Please wait before editing or deleting this page. I will post the entire article including citations before Monday. Thank you.Sullivja 13:52, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here is my completed document. I am sorry for a few Wiki style issues. I am approaching finals and I do not have time to link this file as is appropriate. Could someone help me out with that. Also I am unsure on how to do the licensing on the photos. Furthermore, I would like to note that Mariner 10, MESSENGER, and BepiColumbo need to be linked to the main article Sullivja 08:59, 6 February 2007 (UTC)sullivja[reply]

One last note is that I am not 100% sure that my refrences are in wikipedia style. If these need work please guide me in the direction I need to take them in order to have them correct. Thank you. Sullivja 09:05, 6 February 2007 (UTC)sullivja[reply]

Contradicted many of these observations from earth

[edit]

"Before Mariner 10, it was thought that the planet simply revolved around the sun in a highly elliptical orbit.[3] The planet had been observed through ground-based telescopes, and scientists felt that they were able to draw a great many inferences from such observations. Mariner 10 provided data that contradicted many of these.[2]"

This should be reworked by someone who understands what these contradictions were, and the article should mention there how these contradictions were resovled. --Paul Pot (talk) 10:39, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
