Date of birth

[edit]

The article currently states Delph's date of birth as May 5, 1991, as per the only source which says so - Soccerbase. I notice this has been changed a couple of times. I know Soccerbase isn't always the most reliable of sources, but the Leeds United website states the same date of birth. If it's reverted again, a reliable source needs to be quoted. Stop changing it to November 1989 without a reliable source. Soccerbase above and Leeds United profile both have May 5, 1991. Peanut4 (talk) 18:22, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Check the most reliable source....Football manager 08! :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.195.32.158 (talk) 10:39, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid that doesn't pass WP:RS. The above two, do. Peanut4 (talk) 20:36, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Delph's DOB is not 5th May 1991, it is 21 Nov 1989 as per the official Leeds United A.F.C. Club Handbooks 2007-08 AND 2008-09. The only reason Soccerbase have his DOB listed as 1991 is because of the error on the LUFC website. If Delph was born in 1991, he would be aged 17 - if he was born in 1989, he would be aged 18 as per pretty much every single LUFC article on the player: see here. The Leeds website itself isn't the best thing in the world. It lists Ben Parker as a midfielder, when he has always played in defence.
May I also point out that if Delph was born in 1991, he would have been aged 15 at the time of his debut on 6/5/06. This would have been massive in the news if it happened (which it didn't). If he were born in 1989, then he would have been aged 17, which is the average "not hyped up" age for a youth teamer's debut. In addition, if Delph was born on 5/5/91, then he would currently be a "1st Year scholar". He in fact started his scholarship at the age of 16 in Summer 2006 as per this article presumably originally taken from the reliable Yorkshire Evening Post. As long as there is a reliable source, then that's fine. Previous changes were being made against sources and without a different source being added. Peanut4 (talk) 13:32, 6 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Just to let you know, Leeds have updated their official website with Delph's actual DOB and age.T1v37r (talk) 11:36, 14 September 2008 (BST)

Transfer

[edit]

Don't add any transfer info until it is confirmed by either club or until it is completed please. Spiderone (talk) 15:52, 3 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Loan to Leeds

[edit]

I cannot seem to find anything to suggest the loan move to Leeds has completed so will remove the edit that has shown him moving there (though rumours are the move will go through). I assume we wait until something official is posted on either of the club's websites / an official source. ny156uk (talk) 21:47, 16 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
