Units on this Base should also include: Detachment 1, 338 Training Squadron (USAF). The only Air Force Satellite Communications school—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.186.209.150 (talkcontribs) 21:50, 13 February 2006.

Southeastern Signal School

[edit]

Southeastern Signal School, which I attended during the Korean War following Camp Gordon's BTG Basic Training Group. The Basic Training was featured in Life Magazine in 1952. The magazine showed a unique feature of our training: The "Struggle Pit" where two platoons, one platoon shirtless the other wearing T shirts would go in this empty hole 4 ft. deep and struggle to empty the pit of one competing platoon by physically throwing them out. 206.246.28.178 (talk) 14:03, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DDEAMC/SERMC

[edit]

There no longer a SERMC. This command was turned over to SRMC based in San Antonio. Currently DDEAMC, its sub-commands, and other commands formerly under SERMC are now under SRMC. The current DDEAMC Commander is an O-6 position, rather than part of the regional commanding general's command.

I added Fort Gordon to my User:Oobspacer page and get the message that page doesn't exist even though i can search for it and see it in my browser. Am I doing something wrong or..., the link is working from this comment, very confusing. Oobspacer (talk) 22:54, 9 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Soldier

[edit]
My father was stationed at Fort Gordon in 1967, I am trying to find a picture of him or a yearbook so to speak of his squad. Is this possible? Thank you for your time and consideration. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vsimmons1970 (talkcontribs) 00:22, 25 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Fort Gordon has the worst food in the army outside of various bases in Germany. When I state this, it keeps getting deleted - which makes me assume there is some type of agenda to promote army food on Wikipedia. Valgrus Thunderaxe (talk) 09:20, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Redesignation 27 October 2023

[edit]

On 27 October 2023 at 9:00AM, at Barton Field this installation will be redesignated Fort Eisenhower. The entrance gate signs have been changed over, and are covered over with tarps until the 27th.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] --Ancheta Wis   (talk | contribs) 17:38, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 27 October 2023

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved. Per WP:SNOW. I've moved this article back to the original name prior to this as it has been unilaterally moved twice by one editor, who I will be talking to on their talk. Fort GordonFort Eisenhower – Today 27 Oct 2023 is redesignation day. The ceremony was live-streamed, the US Army web pages have already been moved,[7] the dignitaries have given their speeches, the Eisenhower family was photographed on post, the tarps have been removed from the new signs... -- Ancheta Wis   (talk | contribs) 16:43, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see any reason to not move it. Certainly the Army thinks it's Fort Eisenhower. --Hammersoft (talk) 17:27, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have already moved it. Death Editor 2 (talk) 19:51, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

o'day

[edit]

The ARCYBER page gives an integrated discussion of the units, which are grouped by o'day: Operate, Defend, Attack, Influence, and Inform.

According to the ref above, multiple units are part of NETCOM which, fits under O (operate).

Cyber Protection Brigade fits under D (defend).

The 915th cyber warfare battalion is now designated the 11th Cyber Warfare Battalion, which fits under A (attack).

There are other units which are part of the Fort Eisenhower installation which we need to further sort out. -- Ancheta Wis   (talk | contribs) 01:00, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
