Pacific Ocean Blue is clearly not the primary topic for the term "Friday Night". The correlation is this: the current use of "Friday Night" as a primary topic refers to a song on the album Pacific Ocean Blue; the redirect "Friday Night" used to be an article, but then the article/song was deemed unnotable, and thus turned into a redirect to Pacific Ocean Blue. Honestly, if the current use of "Friday Night" was the primary topic, the article would be restored. But no, it's a redirect to an album which a song by that name exists. On Friday Night (disambiguation), there are several examples of songs named "Friday Night" listed, and one even has an article: Friday Night (Eric Paslay song); also, there are several films and TV series that use the name "Friday Night" as well. For this reasoning, the current use of "Friday Night" as a primary topic is blatantly incorrect. Therefore, the disambiguation page at Friday Night (disambiguation) should be moved to Friday Night per WP:DABNAME, and the current Friday Night should be moved to Friday Night (Dennis Wilson song) per WP:A to preserve the attributions of the redirect when it was an article. • @JHunterJ: I agree with your note in parenthesis above, as I have seen situations like that before. However, in those cases, it makes sense; in this case, it really doesn't, considering that it seems that most of the "links" to Friday Night were actually one link on a highly-transcluded template: Template:Dennis Wilson, which in turn, was previously transcluded on Template:The Beach Boys, given that Dennis Wilson was a member of The Beach Boys, a popular "oldie" band in the US. However, I also noticed that both the link to Friday Night in Template:Dennis Wilson and the transclusion of that template in Template:The Beach Boys were both removed recently; I returned the link to Friday Night in Template:Dennis Wilson, but not the transclusion of that template in Template:The Beach Boys. (Pinging the editor who performed both edits, The Banner, to see if some clarification for these edits can be provided.) Steel1943 (talk) 13:08, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I have removed the two Wilson templates out of the Beach Boys template because those templates are about the solo career of both musicians, not about the Beach Boys. Beside that, those templates appeared twice on the articles of Dennis and Brian Wilson. First separate and then included in de BB-template. The Banner talk 13:19, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Closing comment and apology

[edit]

Although I saw the reason for the multimove I somehow got confused and moved a page over the top of the history to be preserved. I have now undeleted the deleted revisions, I don't think the histories overlap and so that preserves both, but not as requested. Apologies, and if there's a better way forward that you can see, feel free to do it and/or drop me a line. Andrewa (talk) 02:18, 19 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
