The result of the move request was: not moved. (closed by non-admin page mover) – robertsky (talk) 10:07, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Amarin PlazaGaysorn Amarin – Amarin Plaza is undergoing major renovations and is scheduled to re-open by year's end as Gaysorn Amarin.[1][2] An IP editor has been repeatedly editing the article to enact this name change, but as IP editors are unable to perform page moves, this has created a discrepancy between the article title and the name used in the article. I'm procedurally starting this move request, based on what I presume is the IP editor's intention, to gauge consensus for such a change. Personally, I think it is too soon, as the re-opening is still some time away and there are not yet reliable sources that have picked up the name, per WP:NAMECHANGE. I'll oppose renaming at least until the re-opening actually happens and is covered in the news. March 2024

[edit]

There's recently been another round of press coverage, which points to the new name being increasingly adopted, but the official re-opening still hasn't happened. I'd prefer to wait before renaming the article, as there's still little coverage that refers to the mall itself as Gaysorn Amarin (as opposed to those reporting on the renovation). --Paul_012 (talk) 13:17, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've gone ahead and moved the page, as another round of coverage from mid-month suggests the name is now established. It appears to be partly re-opened now, and the reports say it's expected to fully open by March's end, though that remains to be seen. --Paul_012 (talk) 17:28, 21 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
