[edit]I have altered the circumstances of Vanderbilt's death to follow the description in his June 1961 obituary in the New York Times. Information on his yacht comes from Windjammer Barefoot Cruises. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ocwarner (talk • contribs)
Reference conflict
[edit]The unreferenced articles George Washington Vanderbilt III and George Washington Vanderbilt II have some conflicting references if you go look. These reference show "III" being applied to the one who died in 1914 not the one born in 1914. If any there any experts on the subject with solid references your help would be greatly appreciated in referencing these two articles Jeepday (talk) 17:56, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Recent move
[edit]@Henrylauren10: I appreciate your concerns about the naming accuracy. However, I don't know what to say about the change from "George Washington Vanderbilt III" to the current title. This isn't an offense to your good-faith contributions. However, once the RM discussion at Talk:George Washington Vanderbilt II is over, we can deal with this III/IV matter then. Fair? --George Ho (talk) 07:18, 18 February 2017 (UTC)
@George Ho: This one's on me--I thought I had moved this back to George Washington Vanderbilt III while the issue was being discussed. I agree that it was jumping the gun. I have now switched it back. Apologies for this. Henrylauren10 (talk) 21:08, 21 February 2017 (UTC)
- @Henrylauren10: No worries. Apologies accepted. You can check this later right after finding sources to verify your claims. Maybe you can write a book instead about previous generations. Thoughts? --George Ho (talk) 02:46, 22 February 2017 (UTC)
