Peace Now

[edit]

Shuki, the material from Peace Now was already explicitly attributed to Peace Now, so could you explain why you made it so that they claim what they reported? Also, please review this before making these claims that Peace Now is not a reliable source, especially for attributed statements. nableezy - 23:25, 12 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Binyamin Region of Israel"

[edit]

Uhh, what? This place is now located in a region of Israel? Since when? nableezy - 06:00, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have corrected the error. nableezy - 13:48, 14 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
While arguably not a region of Israel, the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council is a unarguably one of the 53 regional councils of the State of Israel. I've edited the article to clarify that this is so. If an editor wishes to change "Israel" to "State of Israel" to stress that the regional council is a construct of the state, as opposed to an objective geographical designation, that's fine too.—Biosketch (talk) 15:21, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
An issue I see with edits like this is that they are about Israel when the location is actually in the Palestinian territories. It's arguably misleading and superfluous. Or possibly it's informative. I think all of these articles should actually say West Bank, Palestinian territories, to make it clear that these locations are not in Israel at the start of the article, in the infobox or both. Alternatively, something like "under the jurisdiction of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council of Israel in the Palestinian territories" would also work but seems silly. Either way, I see these 'of Israel' kind of edits as potentially problematic and destabilizing because they could apply to every settlement article in which case a centralized discussion may be better. Well said. nableezy - 16:06, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
