GA on hold

[edit]

Hello. I will be conducting the review of this article. I have currently placed the article on hold. Here are a few things that need to be fixed before this article can be a Good Article:

  • Per WP:LEAD, this article's lead should be one or two full paragraphs adequately summarizing all of the article's main points. Done
  • There are a lot of paragraphs that are one or two sentences long. Either merge them into other paragraphs, expand them, or delete them. Done
  • The Further Reading section should be below the References. Done
  • Some of the books in the Reference section, and the Further reading, are missing ISBN numbers.
  • Per MOS:BOLD, only the title in the first sentence of the lead should be bolded. Remove bolding elsewhere in the article. Done
  • Add the Wikipedia:Persondata template to the bottom.
  • There are a few paragraphs without citations, please cite them, even if the citations are located at the end of the paragraph.
  • There are several quotes that need refs. Please place a ref right behind the quotes to avoid confusion about what is citing what.

The hold will last a week. If no changes are being made, I will fail the article. If the article is still being actively edited, then I have no problem extending the hold. Thanks. Nikki311 21:21, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to fail the article as not everything has been taken care of and progress has stopped. Finish this list and feel free to renominate in the future. Nikki311 16:07, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly which of the listed criteria have yet to be completed ? If you'll notice the changes taken place during the past week, all of these issues were addressed a while ago. Even the ISBN numbers for the references and further reading sections, all of which were published prior to 1966, were extremely difficult to find and used from later editions. 72.74.217.55 (talk) 16:52, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Survey

[edit]

WP:Good article usage is a survey of the language and style of Wikipedia editors in articles being reviewed for Good article nomination. It will help make the experience of writing Good Articles as non-threatening and satisfying as possible if all the participating editors would take a moment to answer a few questions for us, in this section please. The survey will end on April 30.

  • Would you like any additional feedback on the writing style in this article?

  • If you write a lot outside of Wikipedia, what kind of writing do you do?

  • Is your writing style influenced by any particular WikiProject or other group on Wikipedia?

At any point during this review, let us know if we recommend any edits, including markup, punctuation and language, that you feel don't fit with your writing style. Thanks for your time. - Dan Dank55 (talk)(mistakes) 03:51, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
