Is anyone working on this? The text almost reminds me of the earth entry in Hitchhikers Guide. The text by Vilhjálm Örn Vilhjálmsson is quiet good and not a boring read. If no one is working on this I would be happy to try it myself. Krizzi 13:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I say you give it a go. Haukur 14:53, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm working on it now. Misheu 13:17, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

antisemitism

[edit]

I summarized the Vilhjálm Örn Vilhjálmsson article but there is still a lot to write about antisemitism in Iceland. I also think this article could be cut down, and written more in the way the History of the Jews in Denmark is written, rather than a list of events. Misheu 19:05, 23 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Torah scroll

[edit]

Why would there be a Torah scroll in 1940 Reykjavik with no community around? --84.20.17.84 10:57, 31 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

with some help from a librarian they borrowed the only Torah available in town.
Are you sure it was a scroll?

Is Bobby Fischer worth mentioning?

[edit]

No. A quote from the article "Bobby Fiscer" states: "fraudulently misrepresenting me to be a Jew [...] to promote your religion". Bobby Fisher, is not a Jew, and should not be included. Snaevar (talk) 17:20, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He is, and this is not what I think (contrary to you), and this is supported by various (also by reliable ones) sources / books: his mother was Jewish, Jewish-born Bobby Fischer, he was jewish. Note, two of the sources are jewish-based sources like JerusalemPost. Userpd (talk) 11:57, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"This was the first non-Christian religious service in Iceland in 940 years"

[edit]

This seems unsupportable. The article on Iceland has the *current* population at 80% Christian... I can't believe that it's been 100% Christian for its entire history, and that non-Christians have had some sorts of gatherings that would rightly be called "religious services". I've removed it, but welcome argument. --tgeller (talk) 22:20, 23 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook

[edit]

Not sure that the facebook group is significant. Rich Farmbrough, 03:00, 18 August 2012 (UTC).[reply]
