removed advertising warning after adding some justification of why the ISP data gathering method is superior to using monitoring software on PCs. also added news of acquisition by Experian. The timeline still needs to be turned into prose to make it proper encyclopaedic content to my opinion but it's most of the way there now AlasdairBailey 13:41, 15 May 2007 (UTC) user Arichnad removed link to the new HitDynamics page I created this afternoon giving reason that it is a subsidiary. I'm planning on adding much more to this entry and feel that the acquisition of hitdynamics was an important thing. if there are no objections I'd like to add that link back in AlasdairBailey 21:59, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

Hello. I removed the link before the page was created. I didn't think that a HitDynamics article would be very good because of non-notability. I've checked out the new HitDynamics article and I don't believe it really will make it past a stub. It's also missing references of notability and sources of verifiability. ~a (usertalkcontribs) 23:59, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
point taken Arichnad, I will add my info that makes it noteworthy plus references then re-link. busy with work at the moment but I should be able to do this next week at some point AlasdairBailey 07:36, 24 May 2007 (UTC)

So far this article has only one source that isn't self-sourced. This is problematic. Rklawton (talk) 20:36, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

from the very first sentence, "Hitwise is the leading global online competitive intelligence service," this sounds like a press release. needs serious fixing. —Preceding unsigned comment added by (talk) 10:03, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

The user that has added this works at the company so I reverted this to the original text. --Twilek (talk) 10:17, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
I agree and will attempt some edits. Goalloverhere (talk) 18:09, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

I agree this article should get updated so it doesn't sound like a press release. I work for Experian and want to suggest the following potential introduction:

Hitwise is a product of Experian Marketing Services that measures online behavior across desktop, tablet and smartphone devices. The service provides data on trends in visitor and search behavior, visitor and website profiling and measures website market share. Hitwise helps companies optimize marketing efforts and improve the effectiveness of search, display, affiliate, mobile, email and social media campaigns.

Please feel free to update as you see fit. Experian delgado (talk) 22:44, 17 February 2015 (UTC)
