Detailed Plot Summary

[edit]

Are you sure we need to detailed plot summary? We already have a plot summary. That contains some themes and some personalities. I'm sure it's been done through hard work, but do we need it? SapphireSprite 05:09, 20 November 2006 (UTC) Yes one is needed for all the people that haven't read it. Which..I have and it was excellent. Ladybug91090 15:03, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Ladybug91090[reply]

I love this remark:

"This book is good for someone who has the time to read a book."

Isn't this true for all books that have ever been written? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.192.157.99 (talk) 00:12, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

'course not. Some books are very bad, for even those who have the time to read them. Ever read "See, I Told You So" by Rush Limbaugh? 70.100.83.118 (talk) 16:16, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since this is an issue all over again, please see WP:PLOTSUM and WP:PLOT. If you are of the mind that I should not have removed the chapter-by-chapter summaries, please go on to read WP:DISCRIMINATE.--Ejl389 (talk) 18:28, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

It's of the Advance Reader's edition. Can someone who has this book maybe scan in a normal copy? Thanks! Goyston talk, contribs, play 01:23, 21 March 2007 (UTC) It's fine..what is wrong with it. Ladybug91090 15:04, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Ladybug91090[reply]

2 Articles in 1

[edit]

Why are there two articles in 1? The section talking about the Inkworld should belong in the Inkspell article.141.149.59.17 11:33, 5 May 2007 (UTC)JLiu[reply]

What does it matter..people may not look into Inkspell...they'll only care about this when the movie comes out. Ladybug91090 15:05, 22 May 2007 (UTC)Ladybug91090[reply]

Elinor Loredan

[edit]

Okay, I can't stand this. Shouldn't Elinor have an article? The Shadow has one, too? So, what should we do? I'm watchin' you,mon (talk) 00:34, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reception?

[edit]

I look at a lot of pages on books, and they all have a section on how well the book was received. This article doesn't seem to have one. Considering that it is now being released as a movie, shouldn't we see how well Inkheart did as a book? --Skydude176 (talk) 02:00, 25 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Attention!

[edit]

I apologize for putting up a discussion about the characters in Inkheart's talk page but the characters' talk pages all seem rather...dead. Anyways, I'm proposing a merge for all the character pages. They are all so short and devoid of good references that they can barely stand by themselves as separate articles. It would be much better to have one detailed, good character list instead of a bunch of choppy, short articles. And I don't think Cockerell is notable enough to have his own article. He is an extremely insignificant character! We also need to get more critical reception things for these characters. Please give me your opinions and input. If I see no objections I will go ahead and carry out the merge. Thank you, Swiftink (talk) 15:18, 15 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The characters are not all covered in the same depth and are covered in odd ways. For example, Dusfinger's character description includes plot points whereas for other characters whereas Basta's character description is basically just 2 sentences on his appearance which isn't really relevant to the role he plays in the story. I would recommend that the characters all be covered in depth in proportional to how pivotal they are to the plot. Mswanson22 (talk) 14:13, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Self-referencing book

[edit]

Is it worth mentioning that this is a self-referencing book, there is a book called Inkheart in the book called Inkheart, like Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy? --Matthew Bauer (talk) 17:00, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When making a new discussion on a talk page, please add it to the bottom of the page, which can be automatically done by clicking on "new section" instead of "edit this page". Yes, I do think that would be worthwhile to add, preferably in the introductory section. Eugeniu Bmsg 17:30, 25 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Plot

[edit]

Such an awful plot writeup. And is there any need for an excerpt from the book? So far as I can tell, very few wikipedia articles for books include excerpts. 216.41.16.82 (talk) 15:02, 11 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I just removed the whole horrible shebang and left the summary per WP:PLOTSUMMARIZE. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 18:53, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If anybody really needs the huge chapter summary thing, (The guy learning German for example) I went ahead and copy-pasted the relevent section here. I'll probably forget it is there and leave it up for well over a year.--Ejl389 (talk) 06:22, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A Wikipedia Suggestion box indicates that the plot section could use revising or condensing, so that could be a good place to start if anyone is looking to work on the article! Sh1539 (talk) 14:14, 30 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Love this story. So awesome!

Anyway, QUIT EDITING THE -censored- FILM, THEATRE SECTION!!!! I just had to redo it because some idiot who didn't have their facts straight, edited it entirely and changed the names of the actors who are set to cast. Oooh, this so steams me!

    • And it needs to be done again. It's now in post-production, and the cast is all on IMDb.--April 27
