(not for children Unless viewed with an adult)
[edit]Isn't there a young adult literature category? The novel is appropriate for children in terms of violent :) content. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.141.202.111 (talk) 06:23, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
(notability, plot)
[edit]This novel is, as of today, significant to the production of an upcoming major motion picture* which I believe qualifies it as notable. The motion picture will be the sequel to the novel's prequel's movie adaptation.
- Unofficial. Upon official statement of the film's production, I believe this page should meet the notability requirements.
On the first issue of too much plot summary, I agree, this page should be simplified and additional citations should be added.

Problem with plot summary
In addition to being too long, the summary is poorly written. New characters are constantly being mentioned without prior mention of who they are. 71.59.43.26 (talk) 16:15, 2 September 2013 (UTC)
Collector's edition
[edit]I added information about the October 2012 "Collector's Edition" to the infobox and covered it in a second lead paragraph under this WP:COMMENT:
- !--2014-03-25, section Publication history (Editions? Early editions?) may be appropriate, with a second lead paragraph more substantial than what follows -->
If section "Publications history" is fashioned, it need not be section 1. Probably it should also cover the "Enhanced EPub" ed. covered by one WorldCat library record:
I don't know what that is likely to be, but it suggests extra material to me --Divergent universe content, not necessarily written fiction.
Previously I added what follows to the Divergent (novel) lead with the ref also quoted here:
- (quote) Roth's first book of short fiction set in the Divergent universe is forthcoming July 2014: Four: A Divergent Collection, edited by Katherine Tegen.[ref name=LCC4]
- "Four: a divergent collection". LCC. Retrieved March 25, 2014.
Perhaps that forthcoming work contains, or relates closely to, some of those extra 43 pages in the Insurgent Collector's Edition --as LCCat quotes the publisher, "Contains Free Four, a pivotal scene retold, faction tattoos, poster, and much more!"

Vandalism
[edit]More vandalism as of 28 Oct 2014. Tried to undo, but the filters called that edit "unconstructive". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Overtheseatoskye (talk • contribs) 03:13, 29 October 2014 (UTC)
Messed up English
[edit]Right at the top is says "For the film based which is based on it, see". Clearly this needs to be fixed by removing the first "based". 124.37.83.250 (talk) 02:54, 16 May 2015 (UTC)

"in the post-apocalyptic far future"
[edit]This is not actually correct in light of Allegiant but only an apparent situation. Allegiant reveals that the past that the characters think that they know is in fact a government-created lie, and that the classes in which the young people have been taught things like "faction history" indicating that the current system is centuries old are in fact untrue and the current situation in Chicago is really only about two generations old, but most knowledge of this in Chicago, as opposed to the wider world which they have been so stridently warned against, is restricted to only an ultra-elite few, and apparently even their knowledge of the "facts" is, at the very best, imperfect. 2600:1004:B16F:EB9:85C4:B2BF:7399:5FAD (talk) 01:20, 16 July 2017 (UTC)
