Soc314: Wikipedia Critique an Article Assignment[edit]

The only facts in the article that were cited were the birth date and date of death. The article should include more citations to the facts, for example the sentence stating that she became the "first female Fellow of the RCPE in 1929". Also, the sentence stating that she was born in a time when the opinion of women were changing seems to be biased or opinionated. Joysierr (talk) 03:00, 24 February 2017 (UTC) I am not completely sure what is sought here... as I recall the text was paraphrased rather than copied and the "suspect section" has removed clearly independent sources as listed in references--Stephencdickson (talk) 23:29, 7 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem removed[edit]

Prior content in this article duplicated one or more previously published sources. The material was copied from: https://www.rcpe.ac.uk/sites/default/files/notable_fellow_2.pdf. Copied or closely paraphrased material has been rewritten or removed and must not be restored, unless it is duly released under a compatible license. (For more information, please see "using copyrighted works from others" if you are not the copyright holder of this material, or "donating copyrighted materials" if you are.)

For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or published material; such additions will be deleted. Contributors may use copyrighted publications as a source of information, and, if allowed under fair use, may copy sentences and phrases, provided they are included in quotation marks and referenced properly. The material may also be rewritten, providing it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Therefore, such paraphrased portions must provide their source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with these policies. Thank you. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 17:56, 10 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Image removed[edit]

I have removed the image File:The upper flat at 57 Craiglea Drive, Edinburgh.jpg because the address is not mentioned in the text. Presumably it was mentioned in the removed copyvio content, but the source which was copied only says that she lived in this street in 1891, no source provided for "57". I thought the file description might have said "childhood home of ...", if it is, but it doesn't. PamD 16:34, 21 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
