Signifigant changes made

[edit]

I have made signifigant changes to the article. I have added more on his tenor as Secretary of War and Pennsylvania's U.S. Senator. I know he has been labeled as a "political boss", however, I avoided this term since this might not be a neutral. According to H.W. Brand's 2012 new book on Grant, I have put emphasis on how Grant and the War Department under Secretary Cameron secured the nation from a second secession. I have also mentioned the Great Sioux War that Cameron had to contend with immediately after his appointment. Please feel free to edit, discuss, and improve the article. Thanks. Photos of daughters

[edit]

Elisa.rolle,

For what it's worth, I agree with the removal of the images of the daughters. In general, the pictures could benefit from cropping so that they don't look messy.

It's not usual to include images of children. It's even not usual to add images of spouses, although I often do if one is available. Generally, the times when images of children are included are when the person is an artist and the images are works of the subject of the article - or if the children are noteworthy and there is more than a slight mention of them. In this case, I agree that they are unnecessary.

The article currently has a nice polished selection of images.–CaroleHenson (talk) 02:35, 27 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
