Merge proposal
[edit]This page should be merged into here as it is the same person. James Tanner (stenographer) — Preceding unsigned comment added by BernardZ (talk • contribs) 04:40, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- You're right, but this article has the more natural title and is older. Merge in the relevant information that's not here, then make the newer page into a redirect. --Coemgenus (talk) 12:58, 21 January 2014 (UTC)
- Surely it would be easier to take this page and put it into the other page which is more detailed and change the name

- I think that's the opposite of the normal procedure. I don't do these much, but I think we should consolidate the info here, ask an administrator to do a history merge, then delete (or redirect) the other page. I'll even do the work, if you want. --Coemgenus (talk) 14:12, 22 January 2014 (UTC)
- Okay, what I do not like about this article, is what made Tanner *especially* notable is that he was the stenographer at Abraham Lincoln's deathbed. In that respect the other page is better. Please keep this in note while you do the merge. - BernardZ (talk) 15:30, 22 January 2014 (UTC)

A selective paste merger has been completed. No need to ask for a history merge. - Tim1965 (talk) 21:48, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
