Notability and article quality[edit]

I have made some changes to this article in an attempt to follow wikipedia guidelines for article creation. If however, the article is still deemed inappropriate, please advise ways in which it can be altered to avoid conflicting with your policies.David Rankin (talk) 13:32, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's a promo piece as it stands, which is not what wikipedia is about, the author, his life and the books currently do not demonstrate notability. I was going to delete, but will hold off a day or so, I would suggest a large edit, bring it into context as an encyclopedic entry and show notability, and statements like ...he has since visited more distilleries globally than any living person.... need to be backed up with verifiable sources. This article is a promo piece written by an employee of Jim Murray - David Rankin is a contact on Murray's web page. I think it should be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BabaBravo (talkcontribs) 10:28, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited the original article to remove most of the "Weasel Words" and have attempted to add some balance to the description of his book. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BabaBravo (talkcontribs) 11:38, 15 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Weasel words once again removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.222.103.27 (talk) 09:59, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

He's does seem to be a well-known author – at least to some extent. I have seen his books referred to (on the web sites of several whisky making companies, referring to instances where he rated the companies' brands highly). –BarrelProof (talk) 22:12, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Not enough references for a BLP, perhaps we should try a AfD? BTW: Could commentators here, including the IPs please remember to sign their posts and make edit summaries? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kudpung (talkcontribs) 06:43, 11 February 2011‎ (UTC)[reply]
Seriously? You forgot to sign that post! —BarrelProof (talk) 22:35, 3 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
