this is a stub

[edit]

Can you tell me this article matches up with those articles? This article needs much more to be called anything less than a stub. dposse 20:39, 17 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No. It's no longer a stub. It has mre than one long section. Stubs actually have an upper size limit. IIRC, there's even a cat for long stubs. --Kunzite 00:09, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Kunzite is correct: this article has far too much info in it to be considered a stub. It does, however, need some serious editing to move beyond Start class. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 06:25, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fine. Then i'm putting {{expansion}} in the article. dposse 16:02, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the quote: "(we never actually see him delivering mail, but he mentions it from time to time)" from Postino section. He deliver's mail in Adonis during the final celebration, and in one of the earlier "Twilight Tales" to some town-folk.

I've fixed a bunch of grammatical, aesthetic, and factual errors (As well as removed what appeared to be spam), and added the Seiyuu information, but this still needs some editing. I think comparing it to Inu Yasha and Pokemon is silly, though -- Those things have a lot more of a franchise going, as well as the original series were much longer. If you compare this page to Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei's page, they're about the same length, and that one isn't considered a stub. For now, I'm removing the expand tag. Anime and Manga Collaboration of the Week

[edit]

WOOHOO! I'm soo happy that this article is the Collaboration of the Week. I love King of Bandit Jing and it just needs alot of expansion. dposse 02:40, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Should the three OVA episodes be mentioned under the episodes section?

Yeah, it should. dposse 03:48, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Names

[edit]

I have a minor problem with this section, one that should easily be solved by a rewrite. If it is true that the TokyoPop release explains the specifics of the names, then it would be much better to state it up front instead of the way it is are currently written. Something along the lines of:

In the author's/editor's(?) commentaries in volumes five through seven of the English language translations by TokyoPop, it is explained that the names . . .

Then follow each example with a specific citation to the pages that explain it in those volumes. Of course I'm assuming that this information is in the commentaries space where the ads would be when the manga was serialized. --TheFarix (Talk) 00:13, 30 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I could put that in, seeing as I have the series, but it's a lot of text. I'd say about twenty or thirty pages of the mangas are devoted solely to that info. I'd like to see it in, but I can't help thinking there's a better way. Maybe? Or should I just stick it in and see what happens? --MulletManDan 18:03, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
update--I started copying the text; it's smaller than i thought, more like 15 pages, but it would probably be upwards of two screens of text. perhaps when this article gets bigger, there could be a "Name Significance in KoB:J" page or something like that.--MulletManDan 03:43, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for synopsis editing

[edit]

I think the problem is the first paragraph, I wasn't 100% certain about my plan for the editing, so I thought I'd put it down here and get a second opinion.

All that glitters... Even the stars All things precious... Even your life The King of Bandits Can steal it all In the blink of an eye (Introduction and volume 1 blurb)

King of Bandit Jing tells the story of Jing, a thief who, despite his youth, is crowned 'King of Bandits' because he has yet to fail or be captured. Accompanied by Kir, a scarved, smart-mouthed, flirtatious bird (who is called both an albatross and a crow), Jing travels the world in search of treasure and adventure.

Also, I believe it should be noted the fact that he appears very attached to his mother, as well as a crystal (in the first chapter of Volume 1, he lets a thief take what he wants except for the crystal). I also noticed that a number of his targets shine like crystals (The double mermaid and the Wild Bunch Clockwork Grapes among them).

You shoud have put some images like that cat thing.Adeptrouge 22:27, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Call for inclusion of OVA series

[edit]

I noticed that the article is incomplete without mentioning the OVA "King of Bandit Jing in 7th Heaven." It is not licensed in N. America. It was released on DVD sometime in 2004 and it features a noticeably older Jing who is jailed in highest security prison the world.

There are 3 Episodes:

I) Lost in 7th Heaven II) Dream in 7th Heaven III) Awake in 7th Heaven

OVA now has a section, but not in Infobox, and the Introduction mentions it in passing as if it's already been brought up(something seems to have been cut here). CFLeon (talk) 22:30, 25 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A bad link?

[edit]

Near the bottom of the article, there is a link that supposedly links to a manga review of the series. However, it links to an entirely irrelevent manga title. Anybody know what the link is supposed to be, or know of another that can replace it? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 204.39.81.121 (talk) 16:48, 9 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

A suggestion

[edit]

[quote]Each arc also features the upset of some restrictive societal norm thanks to Jing's intervention; rulers are dethroned, prison riots are caused, an entire corrupt religion is reduced to shambles. This could be taken as a look at the "benefits" of lawlessness and chaos when faced with corrupt and stagnant law, but it is left up to the reader to decide--at no time is Jing described as anything other than a thief.[/quote] In fairness to the author, I think it'd be better to write something to the effect of personal unerstanding of honor and justice sometimes being more important than the human law. "Benefits of lawlessness" is hardly what the author wanted to say, I think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.5.134.79 (talk) 17:15, 8 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Creater

The creator should have his own page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.163.17.131 (talk) 01:59, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
