Picture
[edit]Can one add a picture of him?. --BoldLuis (talk) 12:07, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- Only if it's good enough. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.222.81.151 (talk) 18:38, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
The current photo is VERY unflattering of such a great man. There are countless photos out there that are much better. i suggest you change it — Preceding unsigned comment added by 220.253.3.88 (talk) 15:56, 18 August 2020 (UTC)
Weimar Republic
[edit]Before inserting this apparently irrelevant information and aside to this biography, please explain with citations to Goodenough biography sources why it matters what government existed in 1922, not in general, but to this person's biography. In what significant and sourced way was his life effected by a remote government, he apparently lived little under. It seems little different then in the next paragraph inserting "(then under the administration of Franklin Roosevelt)" for his service in WWII, and "(during the mayoralty Martin H. Kennelly)" for when he got his PhD, etc, etc. -- Alanscottwalker (talk) 14:48, 14 October 2019 (UTC)
- It's a pretty common practice to link the specific period of German history, Weimar Germany is not just a "government": It's like saying George Washington was born in 1732 in the United States of America. 2A02:8108:1340:5E70:C4B2:BE5B:F20F:3936 (talk) 17:28, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
- No. It is not anything like that. The common English name for Weimar Republic is Germany. But more importantly, you have no sources that make it relevant to this biography. Alanscottwalker (talk) 21:01, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Corrected spelling to proper city name Weimar. Matthead Discuß 12:09, 3 April 2021 (UTC)

Bibliography of his papers
[edit]I just draftified a draft of a biography of his papers. It was very incomplete, only up to 1978. Beyond that, it is hard (for me) to justify a list of his > 1000 papers which excludes the other authors when Google scholar already has everything. WP:NOTDATABASE applies I think, the same reason it was removed from this page. Ldm1954 (talk) 16:50, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- I wasn't the one who added it. I was requested to reformat it (WikiProject Bibliographies). I am in the process of categorising the works by subject matter (something Google Scholar does not offer), and bibliographies have long been considered well within inclusion criteria. Most of the remaining >1000 articles are en route to being added (see User talk:Walter Tau#this edit). Ivan (talk) 17:17, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Categories would be much more useful than a list. Ldm1954 (talk) 17:21, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
