[edit]John Oldham is in his third season as pitching coach at Los Gatos High School. Oldham was a four year varsity starter at Campbell High School and was named the top player in the 1950 North-South Prep All Star Game. He attended San Jose State University on a baseball scholarship. From 1954-58, Coach Oldham played professional baseball for the Columbia Reds (AA, South Atlantic League) and in Washington for the Seattle Rainiers (Pacific Coast League). In 1956, he appeared in one game with the Cincinnati Reds as a pich runner.
Oldham coached at Campbell High School from 1959-1963. His teams won three championships. He then spent two years at Westmont High School. In 1966, he moved to San Jose City College where he coached for 18 years. His City College teams won five Golden Gate Conference championships. Oldham left San Jose City with 390 victories. In 1985, he was hired as the skipper at Santa Clara University, where he spent 13 seasons, accumulating a record of 433-324-6, and retired as the second winningest coach in Broncos baseball history. His SCU teams won conference titles in 1994, 1996, and 1997, and earned a place in the NCAA playoffs in 1988 and in each of their three conference title years. Fraudulent page on WikiPedia on John Oldham (baseball)
[edit]The current page purporting that Oldham is a lefthanded pitcher born in 1984 appears to be a work of fiction. Both Retrosheet http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/MISC/PLD_OL.htm and Baseball-Reference indicate that http://www.baseball-reference.com/pl/player_search.cgi?search=john+oldham indicate that the only John Oldhams to ever appear did so during 1956 (John Hardin Oldham) and (John Cyrus "Red" Oldham) and from 1916-1926.McGill1974 (talk) 14:37, 18 April 2013 (UTC)
