Separate page for Ashton's Sydney Art School?
[edit]Hello. I suggest creating a separate page for Ashton's Sydney Art School, as it has outlasted him. Would others agree? Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 02:11, 16 August 2014 (UTC)
- Julian Ashton Art School now exists; primarily due to the heritage-listing of the building since 2002; and the importance of the school in its education of leading artists. Rangasyd (talk) 02:47, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

Mugging
[edit]I'm not sure if it is worth including in the article but he was the subject of a mugging on 24 July 1895. Two of his assailants were arrested and convicted.[1][2][3] From Hill To Shore (talk) 00:17, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
First wife's name
[edit]Is there a source to support his first wife's name? This article says she was Mary Ann Pugh but Peerage.com names her Eliza Ann Pugh. She was apparently a prominent journalist and social reformer in the 1890s but all of the other sources I have found refer to her as "Mrs Julian Ashton" or "Faustine" (the pen name she used in some newspaper columns). From Hill To Shore (talk) 20:07, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
- I've managed to answer my own question. I've stumbled across a painting he made of his wife, titled "Eliza Ashton." It is out of copyright, so I'll upload a copy to Commons when I get back to my PC.[4] From Hill To Shore (talk) 20:46, 18 January 2020 (UTC)
