– As can be seen from the text and from the article names of other Hungarian rivers and streams, "River" has just been used as a disambiguator here instead of the usual convention to just use the river name, Körös. In fact, a quick look at the current disambiguation page indicates that the river is easily the primary subject, being a major watercourse in Hungary and Romania. Of the other topics, 2 are alternative names, one is a little known historical class of ship and one is a Neolithic people named after the river and already disambiguated correctly: Körös culture. • Oppose, the only source provided consistently refers to the "Körös River" not just the "Körös". I could not find any sources that supported the contention that the river is known as the "Körös". In this case the "River" part of the title is not a disambiguator, but indeed an integral part of the name. Even searching for scholarly references to "Körös" on JSTOR [1] reveals most sources refer to the "Körös River" not the "Körös". It may be the primary topic but the article should reflect the proper name. --Mike Cline (talk) 13:13, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment Google books gives "river Körös" 371 hits, "Körös Valley" (not "Körös River Valley") 379, "Körös Basin" (not "Körös River Basin") 195 and I found numerous examples of it being referred to as "the Körös" as well. Meanwhile "Körös River" only gets 459 hits, half of which appear to be for "Körös river" i.e. "river" is not a proper name but a descriptor. So the case for "Körös River" appears to be very weak. --Bermicourt (talk) 16:36, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Bermicourt: I'm not convinced the river is primary over the culture. On a simple Google book result search I'm seeing 8950 hits for Körös "culture" and 2450 hits for Körös "river". And on Wikipedia page views, the two are almost identical: [2]. What makes you think the river is primary? Thanks  — Amakuru (talk) 20:49, 23 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

AFAICS the Körös culture is always called the "Körös culture", rarely "the Körös"; unlike the river. And Körös culture is already disambiguated in the title. So I didn't think there was a real clash... Bermicourt (talk) 07:54, 24 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
