Page name

[edit]

The title of this page is misleading. I understand that the intention is to distinguish it from other Kate Kelly pages but Kate Kelly was never an outlaw. I propose the title "Kate Kelly (Kelly Gang sympathiser)" as being both distinguishing and contextual. By that I mean the term "sympathiser" was used by contemporary sources to describe people who supported the gang.

Not yet auto-confirmed or I'd do it myself.

I agree, and it's still there.--Aichik (talk) 21:34, 24 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Inflammatory statement

[edit]

The following sentence is highly inflammatory and derogatory to Irish Catholics and should be reworded:

"There were very few Irish Catholics in the Greta area as most families were members of the Primitive Methodist Church who were honest hard-working families". 219.90.165.44 (talk) 08:52, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Use of family anecdotes or polemic

[edit]

The vast majority of statements on this page are unreferenced. Editors need to abide by Wikipedia rules on referencing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources If you believe something to be the case, please provide an appropriate reference.

It also detracts from the quality of the page when someone uses partisan polemic. RedDubh (talk) 00:54, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kate Kelly (Kelly Gang) โ†’ Kate Kelly (sister of Ned Kelly) โ€“ Just moved this from the unsatisfactory Kate Kelly (Kelly Gang sympathiser), but just (Kelly Gang) isn't really great either. Opening for discussion, alternatives welcome. Hameltion (talk | contribs) 04:22, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
