[edit]Hastily I put this in categories American book editors and American science writers as well as American children's writers. At glance I see nonfiction, exclusively or nearly so, in our longish Selected List. The "Giants of Science" series may not make her what we call a science writer.
Ext link ISFDB catalogues (along with three nonfiction works) one so-called Novel, The Night the Martians Landed [1] --but that includes a cover image suggesting to me nonfiction about the Orson Welles 1938 The War of the Worlds (radio drama).
So I am sure that someone who knows her work and the children's nonfiction industry (as we cover it) will be able to classify (categorize, describe, label) her better. --P64 (talk) 16:26, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
- She must be one of the favorite writers at Kirkus Reviews. In the Kirkus search report: archived reviews of her books, I count 41 reviews including 11 starred reviews. Among many writers whom I have searched there (mainly Wikipedia-notable children's fiction writers) I guess the rate of starred reviews is less than 10%.
- Scanning that report I didn't notice any works evidently fiction or current events, almost all historical. --P64 (talk) 16:40, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
