Notability
[edit]Currently this article does not demonstrate through proper sourcing the notability of this player. Please use reliable sources that are independent of the subject that have more than just trivial coverage of James to expand the article and allow it to meet the guideline. Google News is a good place to start.
As to the PROD. We do not delete or propose for deletion articles that simply do not demonstrate they are notable, we only do so if in fact the subject is not notable. As the Wikipedia:Guide to deletion explains, we look for sources first, then if none are found we propose or send to AfD. Further, WP:ATHLETE is not ever a reason for deletion (only for inclusion). It is part of WP:BIO under the "Additional criteria" area where it specifically and unambiguously states: "Failure to meet these criteria is not conclusive proof that a subject should not be included". Thus you cannot cite it as a reason for deletion. What ATHLETE and the other items in the additional criteria section, such as PROF and POLITICIAN, are for is to be able to include more biographies, not less. These are for the situations where someone has done something significant, but we just can't find the sources to allow it to pass under the standard BIO criteria. This is often a problem with more historical figures where access to sources from say the 1920s may be impractical, yet the person is known to have won a major award, served in a particular office, etc. But we don't delete just because they don't meet the ATHLETE criteria. James charged on domestic violence
[edit]It's not relevant yet, since this happened at 3 AM this morning, but if it goes down, there may need to be a new section or paragraph to address this. --Unclebanglin (talk) 18:38, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Have to agree. Should I mark this page as not current in regards to current events? Because from the looks Ishmale Woodard has took Lamichael's place at being a all star runningback , it's serious. He's now wearing ankle bracelet for tracking purpose. --Bentoman (talk) 00:03, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Other biographies do mention this sort of thing, but any reference or comment should be accompanied and cited in reputable sources so as to prevent libel/vandalism. Obamafan70 (talk) 01:43, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Pled vs. Pleaded
[edit]I switched to "pleaded" as per the recommendation of most academic journals. For an interesting discussion on the growing popularity of the lay past tense "pled" see http://www.cjr.org/resources/lc/pleadguilty.php Obamafan70 (talk) 01:24, 13 March 2010 (UTC)
Name Change
[edit]Not sure if the name change is a legal one, but he goes by LaMike primarily. This should be reflected in the title of the article. If it is a legal change, then the bolded name to start the article can stay. If it is not, then it should read LaMichael "LaMike" etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2607:F470:6:1010:DDBC:FF7C:DC76:7611 (talk) 16:48, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
