Decline

[edit]

Has anyone an idea where the name Magots originate from? As a biologist, I only know magot as a name of the only European monkey, a species without tail also known as Barbary Ape. Is it possible that the two figures were called 'apes' because of their hunched position, or their exotic appearance?

Coordinates

{{geodata-check}} The coordinates need the following fixes:

  • Write here

You have the Les Deux Magots indicated on the wrong corner (intersection of Rue de l'Abbeye and Rue Bonaparte). It is on the corner of Blvd. Saint-Germain and Rue Bonaparte.

67.101.36.205 is mistaken. The coords are correct. --El Ingles (talk) 14:18, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Correction

[edit]

The film by Rohmer may feature the cafe, but subsequent information about Oury and a kidnapping is a reference to a film by Oury, “The Mad Adventure of Rabbi Jacob.” Someone needs to review and edit this article. 2603:3005:6501:5100:9137:5CB0:2CBC:F06A (talk) 03:14, 8 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
