New consensus for characters

[edit]

Hello. Now that 100 Years Quest is being serialized and that the main series is over, I think it's time to reevaluate importance for certain characters and add some new characters once again. Please state if the character should be kept, deleted, re-added or merged into another article/section. Please provide a detailed reason for why you believe this should happen. Film villains and characters should probably be moved to the appropriate article, but we'll see how that goes. If there are any characters you would want added to the list then feel free to add a section and put your vote. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 01:53, 3 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Touka

  • Unsure – This is a weird position. While she's being built as a significant character in the sequel, it still feels too soon to add anything, mainly because the sequel hasn't received much notability apart from the fact that it exists. User:SubZeroSilver (talk)

Part II

[edit]

Since it's been at least over one year after the last consensus, I think it would be appropriate to reassess some of the other characters. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 00:51, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Arcadios

[edit]

Arcadios was a major character back in the Grand Magic Games. His only minor appearances since then have been in the Avatar and Alvarez Empire arcs. I think devoting a whole section to him might not be needed at this point. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 18:57, 13 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ichiya Vandalay Kotobuki

[edit]

On top of being a prominent recurring character, he's also a playable character in the 2020 video game (not that this tidbit warrants mentioning in this article). He warrants a little extra attention. User:SubZeroSilver (talk) 14:25, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To editor AngusWOOF: No, he is not the Exceed guy. User:SubZeroSilver (talk) 01:08, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, nevermind ;) AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:36, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sherria Blendy

[edit]

Same as Ichiya. User:SubZeroSilver (talk) 14:25, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sherria's singing voice

[edit]

Since this matter is already devolving into an edit war, I want to reach a final conclusion so we can put it to rest. Sherria has been verified to have a separate voice for her single singing appearance in episode 278, which would seem to be the only scene in the entire series in which Sherria sings. Because of this, I find it to be very circumstantial casting much like "young" versions of characters, whose actors are not listed here, which is why I feel the singing voice can be left out. How does anyone else feel about this? User:SubZeroSilver (talk) 17:34, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Character subsections

[edit]

I have noticed at least two attempts to give Jenny Realite her own subsection in the article, despite her overall lack of relevance within the plot. If the reason is to elaborate on how her magic works, that would fall under fancruft. To avoid this problem, I suggest a discussion for which characters do and do not warrant subsections, and how much detail is necessary for each one. Split the Fairy Tail guild character list?

[edit]

A lot has happened since the last restructuring. The 2020 video game and Funimation's simuldub release have resulted in a new wave of reviews. As such, is it time to spin-off the Fairy Tail guild character list into a separate article? Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 21:33, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Subcharacter lists used to be prominent but they are quite a no no nowadays. Only the Bleach series has sublists if I recall. I would say that the inunverse information should be trimmed. Also, if the main characters have notable real world information, they could be given their own articles similar to what Flowerpiep did to two characters.Tintor2 (talk) 21:36, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'd hold up on that for now since even on major shows/franchises like Transformers aren't being split by Autobots and Decepticons anymore. AngusWOOF (barksniff) 01:41, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
