Reserves vs Resources

This list uses the term "resources" instead of "reserves" used by other similar lists (uranium, oil etc). "Reserves" is used in different countries, publications and contexts with different definitions and understandings. CRIRSCO Template uses "mineral reserves" and "mineral resources" with defined meanings. Other classifications, such as the one used by USGS uses vastly different definitions. In general "reserves" refers to material already in use or ready to be used immediately, whereas "resources" are materials that could be used later. These definitions are contradictory to the usage of "wine reserves" or "army reserves", which are quantities or personnel reserved for future use. Therefore, a general reader will tend to be misguided by these usages. As in the United Nations Framework Classification for Resources, the term resource is used in a general sense only in this article. TharikRish 22:16, 22 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
