My methodology (Don't know Polish)
[edit]At first I was going to arrange this the way I did Wiemar and the 3rd Reich, only using those films that IMDB had user comments for. But that only left me with 12 entries. I then took a look at the overall film production during this period and realized it totaled about 175, about the same I had on my other pages. So here I have the COMPLETE (as I can find it) index of Polish films, not just the famous ones. I decided to forgo giving year headings, because it was still manegeable with out them, but may add decade heading. I threw in the 4 films done in the occupation as an afterthought. Conflicts with the title, but, hell, its amazing those movies were even made. Why not?--Dudeman5685 21:54, 24 August 2006 (UTC)

Requested move 25 September 2024
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: moved. Clear consensus to move away from the current titles, which were regarded as overcapitalized. Other phrasing options were discussed, but none extensively—so, while I believe this discussion can be said to have reached a consensus for the original proposal, it is closing without prejudice to further discussions about whether to rephrase "Poland in the interwar period". - List of films made in Poland in the Interwar Period → List of films made in Poland in the interwar period
- Lower Level Football Leagues in Interwar Poland → Lower-level football leagues in Poland in the interwar period
– or List of films made in interwar Poland and Lower-level football leagues in interwar Poland, or List of films made in Poland between the world wars and Lower-level football leagues in Poland between the world wars. Per the body of the article about the interwar period and the recent RM discussion at Talk:Canada in the world wars and interwar period#Requested move 27 August 2024, "Interwar" should not be capitalized, and these are the only two article titles I find on Wikipedia that capitalize that word (except one that has the word in a book title). It also seems desirable for article titles to be consistent in regard to using "the interwar period" versus "interwar Countryname" versus "between the world wars". I also see no justification for capitalizing "Level", "Football" and "Leagues", and I suggest "lower-level" should be hyphenated in this usage per MOS:HYPHEN. Possibly, the football league article could be alternatively be called a list. Note that there are also decade-specific lists that cover the same timespan for the films; see Lists of Polish films. — BarrelProof (talk) 10:34, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support: Interwar and interwar period are not proper nouns, so should not be capitalized. I'd also be comfortable with the formulation "... Poland between the world wars" as that sounds a little more natural to my ear, but either is fine. SchreiberBike | ⌨ 11:55, 25 September 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that "between the world wars" seems more natural than "in the interwar period". There are two other articles that I notice could be related to that question: Aviation between the World Wars and Hungary between the World Wars. — BarrelProof (talk) 22:20, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support, clearly, but why did we need an RM instead of just fixing obvious over-capitalization? Especially considering the previous un-opposed discussion of the same fix. Such a move would not preclude proposal and discussion of even better alternatives, of course. Dicklyon (talk) 04:07, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- Perhaps the RM wasn't really necessary, but there are phrasing choices to consider as well as caps, and someone could hypothetically argue that "Interwar Poland" is a grammatically different construction from "interwar period". I also tend to get more conservative about renaming articles without discussion when their content drifts far away from my personal expertise. — BarrelProof (talk) 05:50, 26 September 2024 (UTC)
- Support Clearly a move from title case to sentence case. Cinderella157 (talk) 02:00, 28 September 2024 (UTC)
