1960's fuel cell van[edit]

read in the New York Times of a fuel cell powered van made by GM in the 1960's. I'm unsure if this was the first car/truck powered by fuel cells, though it might have been. The article said the van was a one-off, extremely expensive to construct, and that all interior space aft of the front seat(s) was taken up by fuel cells. Also it said it was really just a technology demonstrator, and that there was no interest in a practical application. Hydrogen internal combustion engine vehicles accidentally listed?[edit]

I could be mistaken, but I don't think all of the vehicles in this list use fuel cells (H2 fuel cell vehicles are, I believe, always electric vehicles that just happen to draw their power from H2.) The Superchief and Scorpion for instance, but there appears to be many more. Updating the list of vehicles[edit]

Many of the automotive and public transportation vehicles were from 5 years ago and there have been significant additions to manufacturers fleets. Though many of the ones just added, it should be noted that they are related but not necessarily updates of previous models. For example: Daimler F-Cell has the antiquated one based on the A-Class, whereas the current pre-production model is based on the B-Class, and is distinct from the roadster version.Pfchea (talk) 21:20, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Cars section sub headings[edit]

Wouter82 you added back in February 2020 in the Cars section in this edit under the "Production" heading the sub headings "Commercial sale" (now changed to "Commercial sale or lease") and "Non-commercial sale". What do you mean by commercial sale? and non-commercial sale? as the Production heading would refer to a Production vehicle and the other heading Concept would refer to a Concept car.--Melbguy05 (talk) 11:09, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

My interpretation of the headings are vehicles that you can buy or lease vs vehicles that are not for sale or lease. Perhaps they could be renamed as 'Vehicles for sale/lease' and 'Concept/trial vehicles'. Stepho talk 00:11, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Stepho-wrs: There is already a 'Concept' section. Reading about one vehicle, the Ford Focus FCV, moved out of 'Concept' and placed in 'Non-commercial sale' by Wouter82. There were 18 Focus FCV demonstrators produced for use by government and business - a fleet vehicle. List of production battery electric vehicles has a sub-section 'Demonstration fleets'. Perhaps 'Non-commercial sale list' could be renamed 'Demonstration fleets' as a separate sub-section in between 'Production' and 'Concept' in the 'Cars' section. List of modern production plug-in electric vehicles has a 'Models for testing and pre-production' sub-section defined as "developed for field testing and pre-production" similar to 'Demonstration fleets'. 'Production' it defines as a mass production vehicle that is "commercially available for sale or leasing". --Melbguy05 (talk) 08:11, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
