Wording Change

[edit]

The article previous described the premier as "acting as" the province's head of government, and the Queen "acting as" its head of state, but this seems to suggest that they are filling in for someone else. It's clearer to say that they are the head of government and head of state. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.44.113 (talk) 20:55, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I applied the change to the other list of premiers for the other provinces, too. Gary King (talk) 21:24, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Johnhamm.jpg

[edit]

Image:Johnhamm.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:38, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MacDonald & Dexter

[edit]

MacDonald continues as Premier, past the date of June 9, 2009. Dexter, hasn't become Premier 'yet'. GoodDay (talk) 23:50, 9 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Charles Tupper

[edit]

Nova Scotia lists Tupper as the first Premier of the province. GoodDay (talk) 19:22, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

And every other Premier of Nova Scotia article is one ordinal off from this list: Blanchard is described as second, Annand as the third, and so on, down at least to Murray. However, according to the Parliament of Canada web-page Tupper's last day as premier was July 3, so the list is correct, and the articles wrong. Tupper is the last premier of the colony, Blanchard the first of the province. Stevecudmore (talk) 01:46, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

James W. Johnston photos

[edit]

The photographs purporting to be those of James W. Johnston are in era. There were two James Johnstons active in politics in that time. Atrue photograph of Premier James W. Johnston can be found in Volume One of Dr. J. Murray Beck's "Politics of Nova Scotia" at page 125. (signed, Ronald A. MacDonald, (address and phone number removed)) Sorry, I am not logged in. I will have to await the arrival of my son to get me plugged into the internet system — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.215.74.113 (talkcontribs) 07:30, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching this. I'll ask around to see whether we can get this sorted out and confirm that photos are are of the right people. —Arctic Gnome (talkcontribs) 20:37, 16 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
