The result of the move request was: not moved. There is some interest in other solutions, such as creating an article about borrowing writ large, but there's consensus against moving at this time. (non-admin closure) Extraordinary Writ (talk) 05:23, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
– No clear primary topic over some of the other generic meanings like the sporting one etc and proper nouns. The financial meaning has 11,324 views but Loan (sports) has 2,357, Loanword (though not normally "Loan") has 8,526, Nguyễn Ngọc Loan (a PTM) has 4,774 and Interlibrary loan has 1,197[[1]]. - Oppose: OPs pageview analysis demonstrates that the financial term is likely the primary topic, not counting partial matches that users are unlikely to look for using just 'loan'. Firefangledfeathers (talk) 20:11, 9 October 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: Borrow / Borrowing seems like a closely related concept. Those lead a disambiguation page at Borrow. Monetary loans are what spring to my mind first, but other things can be loaned and borrowed as well. — BarrelProof (talk) 05:09, 10 October 2021 (UTC)
- Weak Oppose this article is low-quality, and it seems like a broad-concept article on the concept of borrowing should be created. That said, as things stand I don't think the move would be an improvement. User:力 (power~enwiki, π, ν) 23:59, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. Clear primary topic. Loanword is a different term that is not seen just as "loan", so doesn't need to be taken into account. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:24, 13 October 2021 (UTC)
